Gildas is an agronomist by training and a graduate of the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin. He holds a Certificate in Project Cycle Management from the University of Liège in Belgium. He also obtained a Certificate in Free Geographic Information System at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium. He is currently pursuing a specialized Master in Development, Environment and Society at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium.
Gildas HODJIGUE has more than 10 years of professional experience in development planning and management through several positions in various Belgian international NGOs such as Louvain Développement and Iles de Paix, but also in projects at the national level with donors such as the International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAD). He heads an NGO called Initiative pour un Développement Durable (IDD) which works for sustainable and inclusive development for the populations of Africa in general and Benin in particular.
